Annie Webb Obituary

Annie Ruth "Ann" (Castle) Webb

May 5, 1953 -

December 14, 2025

Annie Ruth "Ann" (Castle) Webb, 72, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, December 14, 2025.

Ann was born on May 8, 1953, in Kingsport, TN to her parents, Fred "Cowboy" and Mary (Crawford) Castle and was a lifelong resident of Hawkins Co. She loved the Lord and always tried to do right and tell others what God had done for her and her family; she was blessed in so many ways. Ann attended Gospel Mission Church faithfully and served in many compacities over the years. She loved her church and church family, decorating the church for the holidays, and she helped with bible school. Ann was always willing to give to others and help in any way she could. She was a lady who didn't have any hard words with anyone and if she did anything wrong, she was the first to tell you she was sorry.

Ann was a member of the Tennessee Draft Horse and Mule Association for over 14 years, she belonged to Fairview Chapter #80; Order of the Eastern Star, and a member of the Red Hat Society. Ann loved to go buggy riding with her husband and spend a lot of Sunday afternoons riding. She loved her mule, Jack; he was 42 years old when he passed and she spent a lot of time taking him to shows and had won several ribbons over the years.

In addition to her parents Ann was preceded in death by her first husband and father of her children, Donald Lee Webb; sister, Susie Cline; and her brother, B.D Castle.

Ann is survived by her sons, Donnie "Shade" Webb (Vesta) and Jason Lynn Webb (Vicki); granddaughter, Morgan Webb; her second husband, Tommy Cline Gass; sisters, Regina Katie Matlock (Jerry), Sandra Kay Smith (Jeff), Gladys Joy Foster; brothers, Fred Earl Jr. Castle, Robert Lynn Castle, and Jimmy Lee Castle (Stacie); special niece, Kelly Williams; special friends, Linda White, Annette Jones, Carrie Simpson, Charles "Ud" Scott, and Charles Collier as well as many other dear friends; as well as many special nieces and nephews.

A visitation will be held from 5:00 – 7:00 PM on Tuesday, December 16, 2025, at Johnson-Arrowood Funeral Home. The funeral service will follow in the funeral home chapel with Pastor Dan Dolen officiating and Pastor Louie Meade will serve as honorary pastor. Music will be provided by Roy Dolen and Tracie Taylor. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, December 17, 2025, at McPheeter's Bend Cemetery. Those wishing to attend the graveside service are asked to meet at the funeral home by 10:30 AM to go in procession to the cemetery.

Serving as pallbearers will be Donnie Webb, Jason Webb, Vesta Webb, Morgan Webb, Chris Bingham, Brian Dye, and Doug Head. Honorary pallbearers will be Charles Collier, Cecil White, Charles "Ud" Scott, Virgil Arnold, GW Ward, and Freddy Lee Castle.
