Donald Charles Clamon, Sr.

Donald Charles Clamon, Sr. passed away peacefully on Sunday, March 1, 2026, surrounded by his family, at his home in Church Hill, Tennessee.

Don was born on December 7, 1943, to the late James Charles "JC" and Edna (Cowden) Clamon.

Don's childhood best friend was James Adams, and in December 1961, the two of them enlisted in the US Navy. Don served three years before returning to civilian life. Don held a few jobs throughout his career, but his favorite was working alongside his son Harry at Clamon Homebuilders. Don's retirement lasted a short three months, when one day he showed up to work and asked, "what are we working on today?" Don was a skilled craftsman and continued to work until very recently. The only thing that Don enjoyed more than being on the job site was all the friends he would meet and the stories he would tell. In his spare time, Don enjoyed flea markets and spending time with his son Chuck, driving his antique cars, and fishing at his lake house in Bean Station.

In addition to his parents, Don is preceded in death by his beloved wife Jewel Clamon, his brother Jimmy Clamon and his best friend James Adams.

Left to cherish Don's memory is his sister Nancy Reed (David); sons Donald Charles "Chuck" Clamon, Jr. (Beverly) and Harry Clamon (Amy), and bonus daughter Rhonda Givens (David); grandchildren Cameron Clamon (Eden), Caleb Clamon, Chandler Clamon, Austin Clamon (Jasmine), Savannah Biddinger (Nick), Rachael Clamon and Madison Givens; great grandchildren Brooke Biddinger, Cali Clamon (due in May), and Addison Bailey.

A visitation will be held from 10:00 A.M. - 12:00 P.M. Wednesday, March 4, 2026, at Johnson-Arrowood Funeral Home in Church Hill, TN. The funeral service will follow in the funeral home chapel at 12:00 PM with Reverend Jonathan Royce officiating.

A graveside service will be held at 1:00 PM. at Oak Hill Cemetery in Kingsport, Tn.

Grandsons will serve as pall bearers.
