Melinda "Lee" Bryan

April 7, 2026

KINGSPORT - Melinda "Lee" Bryan, 69, of Kingsport, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, April 7, 2026 at her home, surrounded by her loving family. Born in Gettysburg, PA, she had resided in Kingsport since 1978. Lee was a graduate of Catoctin High School in Thurmont, MD, class of 1975, Tusculum College in 1980 and later obtained her master's degree in education. She had been employed by the Sullivan County School System. Lee was a member of Cornerstone Church in Johnson City, a member of Kingsport Lion's Club and a member of Appalachian Miles for Smiles. She enjoyed reading, pottery, traveling, and spending time with her family.

Lee was preceded in death by her parents, Sterling and Linda Bollinger.

Survivors include her husband, Carl Bryan; step-daughter, Alexis Berlanga and husband, Rocky; two step-grandchildren, Samuel and Owen; four sisters, Maggie Doll and husband, John, Katrinka Martin, Paula Gills and husband, John, Mary Sweeney and husband, Hal; four brothers, Gene Bollinger and girlfriend, Cheryl, David Bollinger and wife, Shelba, Joseph Bollinger and wife, Lara, Samuel Bollinger and wife, Jodie; and several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, April 25, 2026 at 3:00 p.m. at Cornerstone Church, Johnson City. A Celebration of Life service will follow at the church at 4:00 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Appalachian Miles for Smiles, P.O. Box 3215, Kingsport, TN 37664 or Cornerstone Church, 120 Cornerstone Dr., Johnson City, TN 37615.
