Barbara "Ann" Duncan February 21, 1935 - September 2, 2024 CHURCH HILL - Barbara "Ann" Duncan, age 89 of Church Hill, TN, went home to be with her Lord and Savior, and was reunited with her loving husband, JC, and other loved ones who had gone on before her, on Monday, September 2, 2024. Ann was born on February 21, 1935, in Hawkins County, TN to W.J. and Ina Francisco. Ann graduated from Church Hill High School where she was a cheerleader and played basketball. In 1954, Ann married her most cherished friend and love of her life, JC Duncan, and after 62 years of a beautiful life together and raising a family, he preceded her in death in 2016.
Ann and her husband, JC, owned and operated the Dairy Hart restaurant in Church Hill for 43 years, where she was known for having the best cheeseburgers in town. Throughout this time, Ann was a great mentor and role model to her employees. She treated her customers with the highest of respect because they were more than customers, they were family. Ann loved her family, and she exemplified what a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and grandmother "Annie" should be. Ann was a devoted member of First Baptist Church in Church Hill. She loved flower gardening and listening to her favorite songs on vinyl records: from Engelbert Humperdinck to Rod Stewart, she loved all kinds of genres. Being a true Tennessean, she always took the opportunity to brag about her grandchildren; and she was a devout UT football and basketball fan.
Ann was preceded in death by her parents; her loving and devoted husband, JC "Pappy"; one brother; three sisters; and special sister-in-law, Anna Ruth. Those left to cherish her memory and testimony are her sons, Michael Duncan and wife Barbara Ann, and Tim Duncan and wife Etta; three grandchildren, Olivia Porter and husband Michael, Lindsey Duncan, and Jackson Duncan and fiancée Chantae; six great grandchildren, Asha, Canaan, Isaac, Corey Ann, Everly, and Crew; one great-great granddaughter, Zariyah; one brother, Benny Francisco and wife Nancy; brother-in-law, Mike Freeman; many loving nieces, nephews, and former employees; and two special neighbors, Trina, her loving neighbor who watched over her, and Aiden, who kept her yard in tip top condition.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, September 7, 2024, from 12:00 pm to 2:00 pm at First Baptist Church in Church Hill. There will be a memorial service to honor Ann's life and testimony at 2:00 pm with Pastor Gary Gerhardt officiating.

Ann was a jewel. The ice cream.she gave out to winning ball teams during the summer city leage play was such a treat.
It was unbelievable to me the first and last time time the girls made that trip. Always a beautiful smile just meant for you!

Talking with her when she was out in the yard tending to her flowers. She was a wonderful neighbor. I will truly miss her! Literally waved to her everyday when I came home from work.
