ROGERSVILLE - Barbara Faye Price, age 90, of Rogersville, passed away Sunday, December 10, 2023 at Morristown-Hamblen Hospital. She was born to the late Carson and Nina Jones. Faye grew up in Eidson, TN-Clinch Valley. She attended Clinch School where in upper grades she played basketball until she graduated. Faye then apprenticed at the Kingsport Press to become a linotype operator. She also played basketball for the Press team for 2 years. Faye met Bud while traveling back and forth from home and the Press. They married in 1953. That same year she began working for Fred and Eleanor Sheets at The Rogersville Review as a linotype operator. She remained there until the newspaper converted to a computer format. Her linotype machine is displayed in the printing museum at the Depot in Rogersville, TN. She then followed her love of flowers by working at Martin's Greenhouses. Faye loved working in her own gardens and flower beds. Faye loved her annual vacations to the beach and the mountains. She loved her Rogersville home, her Clinch home place, gospel music, and her family. Faye was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, Bleve (Bud) Price; her parents; parents-in-law, Taylor and Della Price; brothers, Ben, Harold, Jack, Wayne and Lynn Jones; sister, Janice Moyers; brothers-in-law, Paul, Barlow, H.M. (Poss), Ronnie Price, Larry Begley; sisters-in-law, Adrion, Lorraine, Vivian, Brenda Price, Jan Jones.
She is survived by her loving daughter, Karen Ellis and husband, Frank; her beloved grandchildren, Ashley (Brian) Shults, Will (Morgan Lane) Ellis, Taylor (Morgan Olson) Price-Ellis; beloved great-grandchildren, Lucy Shults, Jack and Adaline Ellis, Emory and Emma Price-Ellis, Adriana Pierce and a new one on the way; sisters, Shirley Begley, Sandy (Randall) Short; sisters-in-law, Martha Jones Feagins, Shelva Jones, Carolyn Jones; brother-in-law, Richard Moyers; special friend, Sam Helton; several nieces and nephews.
The family would like to thank Charter Senior Living of Jefferson City, TN and their caregivers and the staff and caregivers at Morristown-Hamblen Hospital.
Visitation hours will be 11:00 A.M. to 1:00 P.M., Friday, December 15, 2023 at Christian-Sells Funeral Home, Rogersville.
Funeral service will be conducted 1:00 P.M., Friday, December 15, 2023 in the funeral home chapel. Burial will follow in Highland Cemetery.
