KINGSPORT - Bernice Taylor Jones, age 91, of Kingsport went to be with the Lord on Friday, January 12, 2024.
She was born in Scott County, VA to the late Henry Vernard and Anna Ruth Sparks Taylor.
Bernice was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, great-great-grandmother, and sister.
She enjoyed the outdoors, camping, and served as a host at the Warriors Path Campground. Her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren gave her the most enjoyment in life.
In addition to her parents, Bernice was preceded in death by her husband, Roy Lee Jones; son, Randall Jones, and daughter-in-law, Karen Minnick Jones.
Bernice is survived by her son, Rick D. Jones (Leona); granddaughters, Tina Bowman, Mary Elizabeth Jones, and Kristy LeeAnn Larkins (Jason); grandson, Ryan Lee Jones; great-grandchildren, Chase Neely, Dustin Larkins, Marissa Jones, Karen Larkins, Nichoulas Jones, Kason Jones, and Blakley Clark; four great-great-grandchildren; special nieces, Donna Byington and Kathy Rhoton; and several nephews, cousins, and friends.
The family will receive friends from 2:00 – 3:00 pm, Thursday, January 18, 2024.
A Celebration of Bernice's life will begin at 3:00 pm in the chapel at Oak Hill Funeral and Cremations Services with Dr. Phil Hoskins officiating.
Entombment will follow at Oak Hill IV Mausoleum.
The family would like to express their extreme gratitude to a very special niece, Donna Byington, for the exceptional care over the past two years.
