WEBER CITY, VA - Bernie Max Ervin, 92, of Weber City, VA went to be with the Lord Wednesday, December 20, 2023, at Holston Valley Medical Center.
He was born March 12, 1931, in Manville, VA to the late Warner and Emily Gilliam Ervin.
Bernie was a loving and devoted husband, father, brother, and uncle who made family his main priority.
He was a past President of the Virginia Jaycees and member of Holston View Methodist Church.
Bernie retired as a mail carrier with the United State Post Office and was a proud veteran of the U.S. Air Force.
He enjoyed playing golf with his buddies at the Scott County Park & Golf Course
In addition to his parents, Bernie was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Darnell Ervin; sister, Sue Miller; brother, Arlie Ervin.
Those left to cherish Bernie's memory are his daughter, Kristi Ervin; sister, Jean Davis; brother, Kenny Ervin; special friend, Della McMurray; several wonderful nieces and nephews, and their children.
The family will receive friends Tuesday, December 26, 2023, 1:00-2:00 pm in the funeral home chapel.
A Celebration of Life Service will begin at 2:00 pm with Pastor Chuck Griffin officiating. Kristi Ervin and Kenny Ervin will deliver eulogies.
The Committal Service will be conducted in the chapel and burial will follow in Oak Hill Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Holston View Methodist Church or Samaritan's Purse.

Bernie was a great gentleman! I enjoyed working with him in the 80s @ the Gate City Post Office. Very kind and a steady worker.
