Bert Russell Obituary
ROGERSVILLE - Bert Allen Russell Sr., age 89, of Rogersville, passed away on Wednesday, February 8, 2023, at Holston Valley Medical Center. He was retired from Card and Label Company.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Ruth and Reed Russell; sister, Jean Mallory and her husband, Keith Mallory; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Walter and Mabel Carson.
He is survived by his wife of seventy-one years, Jane C. Russell; sons, Bert and Mary Russell, Walter and Julie Russell; grandchildren, Autumn Mowell (Justin), Cheyenne Murrell (Jason), Jordan Russell, Emily Singleton (Dustin), Melanie Warren (Joseph); eight great-grandchildren; special dog, Jack Russell.
Mr. Russell will lie in state from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. Friday, February 10, 2023 at Christian-Sells Funeral Home. Graveside service will be held at 11:00 am Saturday, February 11, 2023, in Choptack Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Robert Mallory officiating. Pallbearers will be Jason Murrell, Justin Mowell, Bill Hensdill, Jordan Russell, Dustin Singleton, Steven Lawson, Jr., George Gray, Doyle Smith, Clinton Armstrong. Honorary pallbearers will be Kim Alley, Dale Venable, Steven Lawson, Sr.
