KINGSPORT - Betty Jo Nicholson, 88, of Kingsport went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, May 28, 2024. She was born in Amonate, VA to the late Garfield and Letty Whited. Betty was a devoted member of Colonial Heights Methodist Church. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends, especially her grandchildren. Betty was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, and friend who will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Cecil Nicholson; brother, Sonny Whited; sisters, Charlotte Wells and Lois Sang.
Survivors include her daughter, Vicki Cochran; son, James Nicholson; grandchildren, Robert Waddle (Kasey), Ryan Waddle; great-grandchildren, Jake, Maggie, Paisley, and Cambry; sister, Geri Page; along with several nieces, nephews, and a host of friends.
A graveside service will be conducted at 10 am on Wednesday, June 5, 2024 at East Lawn Memorial Park with Rev. Chris Brown officiating. Those wishing to attend are asked to meet at the cemetery by 9:50 am.
