KINGSPORT - Bill Stewart, 92, of Kingsport, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, January 22, 2026. Born in Kingsport, TN, Bill resided most of his life in Kingsport. Bill graduated from Lynn Garden High School and East Tennessee State University. He was a member of Colonial Heights Baptist Church. Bill and his wife, Diane, owned and operated Toohey, Jordan, & Stewart Real Estate Agency and Cornerstone Insurance Agency along with Gibson, Turner, and Stewart Insurance Agency. Bill was an active member of the Optimist Club serving as local president at one time. Bill also served in the United States Air Force.
Bill is preceded in death by his wife Diane Flanary Stewart, parents, William Carson Stewart and Ione Stewart Couch, sister, Patricia Castle, and son, Jack Stewart.
Bill is survived by his two special nieces, Caroline Barron (Joe) and Amy Collier (Chris); three children, Gary Stewart (Karen), Larry Stewart (Rhonda), and Donna Wadewitz (Guenter); 9 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren; one sister Linda Fletcher, and many nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 6– 7:30 PM on Friday, January 30, 2026 at Hamlett Dobson Funeral Home, Kingsport. Services will follow at 7:30 PM with Dr. Greg Burton officiating.
An entombment service will take place at 12PM on Saturday, January 31, 2026 at Oak Hill Memorial Park.
