Billy Meade Obituary

MT. CARMEL - Billy "Bill" Meade, 71 of Mt. Carmel, TN went to be with the Lord on May 19, 2025 in the comfort of his own home surrounded by his loving family after a brief illness. He was the son of the late Carson and Gussie Dean Meade. Bill attended Gravelly Baptist Church. He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting and fishing. Bill was also a Nascar Fan. In addition to his parents, Bill is preceded in death by his sister, Lou Jane Reece and a sister-in-law, Cathy Meade.
Bill is survived by his sisters, Viola Meade, Dollie Price (David), Judy Patterson (Tom); brother, Michael Meade; niece, Michelle Bailey (Josh); nephews, Chris Meade, Jamie Price (Rebecca), Matthew Patterson (Amanda); several cousins and a host of friends.
The family will receive friends Friday, May 23, 2025 from 12 Noon – 1:30 PM at Colonial Funeral Home. Funeral service will be at 1:30 in the funeral home chapel with Pastor Terry Bennett officiating. Interment will follow at Holston View Cemetery. Family and friends will serve as Pallbearers.
Memorial contributions may be made to ALS Association, 1300 Wilson Boulevard, Suite 600, Arlington, VA 22209 or to Gravelly Baptist Church, 647 Gravely Rd., Kingsport, TN 37660
The family would like to extend a special thanks to Smokey Mountain Hospice for their excellent care and loving concern for him and his family. Also to the ALS Association and the ALS clinic in Elizabethton.
