Calvin Marion Poff 88 went home to be with the Lord on Sunday July 30, 2023, following a period of declining health. Calvin was born in Gate City, Virginia on November 18, 1934 to Jake Poff and Mary Carter Poff.
He was a member at Gravelly Baptist Church. Calvin enjoyed working in his garage and doing appliance repair. He could fix anything and would help anyone in need. Calvin loved being with his wife of 70 years, Rita, and they were rarely apart. He also loved spending time with his children and grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother Paul Poff, sister Ruby Herron, sister Georgia Patricia Ridout and nephew Kenneth Arnold.
Calvin is survived by daughters, Lisa Willis (Keith) and Beckie McCrary (Rusty); sons, Dewayne Poff, Steve Poff (Vicki), and Greg Poff (Nancy); grandchildren Angel Poff, Adam Poff, Ryan Poff, Lacey McCrary, Dakota Poff, Tristan Clark, Delaney Poff. Great grandchildren, Bree Poff, Franklin Wolfe, Adellen Poff, Abram Poff, Leah Willis, and Harper Clark. Also survived by sister Mildred Flanary, as well as several nieces and nephews.
The family would like to give special thanks to Calvins loving church family at Gravelly Baptist.
A graveside service will be held at 11AM On Thursday, August 3,2023 at East Lawn Memorial Park. Pastor Terry Bennett will be officiating the service. Those wishing to attend are asked to meet at the cemetery about 10:45 AM.
Pall bearers will be Dewayne Poff, Steve Poff, Greg Poff, Tristan Clark, Ryan Poff and Adam Poff

I am so sorry for your loss. I work at the YMCA and met Rita and Calvin there. They were the sweetest couple! We would always say here comes our favorite and most sweetest couple ever! We loved how they always held hands. Rita would bring the front desk snacks or candy when they would come in. They both will be missed very much! I am praying for your family.
