CHUCKEY - Carol Jones Garst, age 80, Chuckey, passed away from this earth and into the arms of her Savior on Friday, December 8, 2023, at the Durham-Hensley Health & Rehabilitation Center.
On February 15,1943 Carol was born. The second of six children born to the late W.H. (Bill) and Gladys Jones of Kingsport Tn. Carol was also preceded in death by two brothers, Jimmy Jones (Vietnam) and Ron Jones, one sister, Susie Jones and her son, Jason Ledbetter.
Carol was a friend to all and loved unconditionally- just like her savior - Jesus.
She married her high school sweetheart and had two children Anita and Jason Ledbetter. She married her soulmate and best friend Ron Garst in March of 1992. Together they provided a loving home for their children and grandchildren.
The many memories she created for them are what they all hold dear today and forever. From camping trips to overnight stays on the farm with swimming, fishing, and horseback riding - no one wanted to leave Mimi and Pap's house. Hundreds of burgers and homemade ice creams were served with love and lots of laughter. She will be dearly missed.
Left to mourn her passing are her husband, Ron Garst; daughter and son-in-law, Anita & David McCray; bonus daughter and son-in-law, Belinda & Ed Walls; bonus son, Greg Garst; four grandchildren, Bryson and Victoria Foster, Carson, and Marinda Walls; great grandson, Maverick Taylor; sister, Janice McMurray (Wayne); brother, Paul Timothy "Tim" Jones (Dee).
Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 PM, Sunday, December 10, 2023, at Dillow-Taylor Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Don Hilton officiating. The family will receive friends from 1:00-2:00 PM Sunday prior to the service.
