Carson Shane Laney

February 20, 2026 -

On February 20, 2026, at 2:25 am, our world grew quiet as our precious Carson Shane Laney was cradled into the arms of angels. The cherished son of Andrew Shane Laney and Katelyn Brianna Vaughan. Though he was born sleeping, his presence was powerful.

In the sacred, fleeting moments we held him in our arms, and the months we carried him in our hearts, Carson taught us a depth of love we never knew possible. He showed us that a life doesn't have to be long to be meaningful, and that a soul can leave an eternal footprint on the hearts of a family without ever saying a word. Our arms feel empty, but our souls are forever changed. We find our only peace in knowing that Carson's first breath was the sweet air of Heaven, and that he is being held in love far greater than any earth could offer. Carson was ours for a moment, but he is loved for a lifetime.

Those left to cherish his memory are his loving parents, Andrew Laney and Katelyn Vaughan; sister, Paisley Laney; brother, Oliver Vaughan; grandparents, Jack Jr. and Mary Beverly, Lorrie Vaughan, Kenny Vaughan and fiancée, Michelle David; great-grandparents, Jackie and Clinton Rutherford; aunts and uncles, Hayley and Taryn Greene, Payton Beverly, Megan Vaughan, and Jaidynn Johnson.

The family will receive friends from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm Thursday, February 26, 2026, at Oak Hill Funeral Home.

A Celebration of Life Service will follow with Clinton Rutherford officiating.
