NORTH HUNTINGDON, PA - Charles E. Stanley, age 91, of North Huntingdon, passed away Monday March 18, 2024, at his home. He was born May 10, 1932, in Prestonburg, Kentucky, a son of the late Fairbanks and Frona McOwn Stanley. He was a member of the Norwin Alliance Church and enjoyed gardening, hunting, and fishing. Prior to retirement, Charles was an Electrician for General Motors with 22 years of service. He was a US Army Veteran serving with the 11th Airborne Division during the Korean War where he was the recipient of 3 Purple Hearts and a Bronze Star. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife JoAnn Hall Stanley, two sons, Charles K. Stanley and Dr. Gregory K. Stanley. He is survived by his grandson, Chad Stanley (Nicole), great-grandson Luke Stanley, and great-granddaughter Lila. The family will receive friends from 5pm to 7pm on Tuesday, March 26, 2024 at Carter-Trent Funeral Home in Kingsport. A funeral service will follow in the funeral home chapel.
A military graveside service will be conducted at 11am on Wednesday, March 27, 2024 at Holston View Cemetery with honors conducted by the American Legion Hammond Post #3/265. Those wishing to attend are asked to meet at the cemetery by 10:50am.
