BIG STONE GAP, VA - Clara Evelyn Tucker, 89, passed away on Tuesday, April 4, 2023, at her home.
She was a lifelong resident of Big Stone Gap. She worked for ten years for Walmart in Big Stone Gap. She loved and cherished her family. She was a longtime member of Oak Grove Baptist Church in Big Stone Gap.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Frank W. Tucker, Sr.; parents, Dewey and Rachel (Chandler) Durham; and siblings, Lula Coomer, Virginia Heard, Etta Harrold and Carl Durham.
Surviving are her two daughters, Karen James (Michael) and Susie Phillips (Arley), both of Big Stone Gap; one son, Frank W. Tucker, Jr., Big Stone Gap; grandchildren, Ashley Bowen, Zachary James, David Phillips, Michael Phillips and Melissa Stidham; six great grandchildren and one great-great grandson; sisters, Geraldine Houck, Troy, Mich. and Dorene Melson, Lawrenceburg, Tn.; and several nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be held 1:00pm Friday, Apr. 7, 2023, at Glencoe Cemetery with Pastor James Holcomb officiating.
Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
