With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Conner Jack Jones, beloved husband, father, son, brother, and friend who departed from this world on February 16, 2024. Jack was a shining light in the lives of all who knew him, and his loss leaves a void that can never be filled.
Jack touched the hearts of many with his infectious laughter, warm smile and big hugs. He had a unique ability to make everyone around him feel loved. He was a proud veteran who served in the United States Army. Jack retired after 46 years of service from AFG Greenland Plant. He was saved at age 72 and a faithful member of McKinney's Chapel Missionary Baptist Church. He was an avid walleye fisherman, loved spending time on Watauga Lake, listening to bluegrass music and playing his guitar.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Enoch and Azalea Jones; brothers, Claude and Mickey; sisters, Vada Bennett, Juanita Bowery, Marietta Jones, Ann Petrey, and Faye Roslan; infant daughter, Diana Renea Jones.
He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Doris Totsy Jones; daughter, Amy (Dave) Jones-Shockley of Morristown; son, Todd (Melanie) Jones of Kingsport; grandchildren, Ryan (Kathrina) Erwin, Whitley Jones, and Jackson Jones; great-grandson, Emmet Erwin; special grandnephew, Jared Witt; sisters, Jean Martin of Mechanicsville, VA, Judy Gage of Mustang, OK; and several nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm Tuesday, February 20, 2024 at Christian-Sells Funeral Home. Funeral services will follow at 8:00 pm with Rev. Jerry Wayne Lawson and Rev. Junior Brown officiating. Graveside service will be held Wednesday, February 21, 2024 at 11:00 am in McKinney's Chapel Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Johnny Seymore officiating.
Pallbearers will be Danny Bennett, Ryan Erwin, Jackson Jones, Jared Witt, Monroe Brown, and Doug Seymore.
