KINGSPORT - David Clyde McGhee, 79 of Kingsport went to be with the Lord on Thursday, October 3, 2024 at his home surrounded by his family. David was born on November 12, 1944, in Kingsport. He was a retiree from Domtar and was a member of Good Shepherd Baptist Church.
David was preceded in death by his loving wife, Ida Louise McGhee; his children, David McGhee, Jr. and Davonna McGhee Walls.
He is survived by his daughter, Becky Carter and husband Jimmy; grandchildren, Matthew Smith, Jesse Smith, Sarah Carter, Cody Walls and wife Kaitlin, Ethan Walls and wife Marlene; great-grandchildren, Darcy Smith, Aspen Walls, Olivia Ann Walls, and Hazel Louise Carter.
A graveside service will be conducted on Sunday, October 6, 2024 at 3:00 pm at Hermon United Methodist Church with Pastor Robert Fletcher officiating. Those wishing to attend are asked to meet at the cemetery by 2:50.

The Federico family send Becky, Matthew, Jesse, and all the family our deepest sympathy. We remember him well as a fine grandfather. We know he missed his beautiful wife. They were always kind to me when they came shopping where I work.
