Don Robert Jeffers
KINGSPORT - Don Robert Jeffers, 86, of Kingsport Tennessee passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family. Don was born on April 25, 1939, in Greene County, TN where he spent a life defined by faith, service, and devotion to his family.
A proud graduate of Baileyton High School, Don went on to serve his country with honor in the United States Marine Corps Reserves for eight years. Following his service, he dedicated 34 years to the Tennessee Highway Patrol, where he was respected for his integrity, steady leadership, and commitment to protecting others. After retiring from the THP, Don began a second career with Marriott, Meadowview Convention Center in Kingsport, where he continued to share his work ethic and kindness for another 25 years.
Don was a faithful member of Sunnyside Baptist Church, where his quiet strength and steadfast belief inspired all who knew him.
The love of Don's life was his bride, Doris. Together, they shared a deep and enduring bond that earned them the affectionate nickname "the love birds." Their marriage was a shining example of true partnership and devotion. Don is survived by his wife of 67 years, Doris; son Keith Jeffers (Liz); granddaughter Rachel Millhorn (Peyton) and his adored great-granddaughter Emory Millhorn, who brought him immense joy. He was preceded in death by his parents Robert and Leda Mae Jeffers (Idell) and two brothers Carroll and Charles Jeffers. His family and friends will forever remember his warmth, wisdom, and gentle humor.
Funeral services will be held as East Lawn Cemetery in Kingsport, Tennessee, on Saturday, November 8, 2025. Receiving of friends and family will take place from 12:30 to 2:30 pm., with graveside services immediately following.
