Doris Jean Jackson October 3, 1949 - September 18, 2024
KINGSPORT - Doris Jean Jackson, age 74, of Kingsport, Tennessee, passed away Wednesday, September 18, 2024.
Doris was born October 3, 1949, to the late Clarence and Stella Jackson. She was "special needs" all of her life and was of the Baptist faith. Doris was baptized at Gravelly Baptist Church, March 21, 2004, by Rev. David Salley. She knew the Lord and loved people. Doris enjoyed long walks and being in nature. She loved going to Dollywood and was an avid Dolly Parton and Elvis Presley fan. Doris was indeed very "special" to all of those that knew and loved her, she will be missed dearly.
Other than her parents, she is preceded in death by several sisters and brothers, including a twin brother, David Jackson.
Left to cherish her memory are her sisters, Edna Potts and husband Kenneth of Kingsport, Tennessee and Estell Booher and husband John of Bristol, Virginia; one brother, Ronnie Jackson and wife Linda of Balch Springs, Texas; and her two beloved housemates, Lisa and Brenda.
Graveside services will be held at East Lawn Memorial Park on Saturday, September 21, 2024, at 10AM, with Pastor Terry Bennett officiating. Those attending are asked to assemble in the cemetery.
Interment to immediately follow the graveside services.
The Family will receive friends, at the home of her sister, Edna, in Colonial Heights, Tennessee, following the interment.

I am so sorry to hear about the passing of Doris. I worked with her for awhile and have thought about her often since my time at FH. Thoughts and prayers for all of her family and friends.
