BIG STONE GAP, VA - Dorothy (Dot) Wright Light, passed away peacefully on December 6th after a period of declining health. She was preceded in death by her parents, C.F. and Maurine Wright; sister, Doris Hobbs; husband, Tommy Light; and very close, longtime companion Elmer Younce.
Dot was born in Stonega, VA on January 11, 1938. She spent most of her life in Big Stone Gap, where she raised her family.
The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 pm on Sunday, December 14, at Roy A. Green Funeral Home, Appalachia, VA. Funeral services will be conducted at 11 am on Monday, December 15 in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Garrett Lee officiating. Graveside services will be conducted immediately afterwards at the Powell Valley Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
