SNEEDVILLE - Earl C "Sonny" Greene, age 80, of Sneedville, went to his Heavenly home on Sunday, February 11, 2024.
He was saved at an early age and was a member of the Rock Bridge Baptist Church in Thorn Hill. He attended Union United Methodist Church in Eidson for the last 56 years. Earl served in the United States Army, stationed in Germany for 22 months. He retired from Holliston Mills and was a member of the Teamster Local 519. He enjoyed owning and refurbishing old Ford trucks.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Jack and Ida Greene; and brother, Raymond Greene.
He is survived by his loving wife, Elaine Hartley Greene; son, Timothy (Robin) Greene of Rogersville; grandchildren, Sloane (Matthew) Wilder of Rogersville, Brennan (C.J.) Willis of Surgoinsville, Race Greene of Rogersville, Cheney Greene of Germany, Neeley Greene of Rogersville; great-grandchildren, Elena Wilder of Rogersville, Madison and Mailey of Rogersville, Atley, Axton, and Hux Willis; sisters, Juanita Jones of Sneedville, Joyce Butler of Thorn Hill, and Peggy (Gary) Matthews of Rogersville; brother-in-law, Millard Hartley; and several nieces and nephews.
The family of Earl wishes to extend their sincere thanks to all the family and friends who has called and came by.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm Wednesday, February 14, 2024 at Christian-Sells Funeral Home. Funeral services will follow at 8:00 pm with Rev. Sam Trent officiating. Graveside service will be held Thursday, February 15, 2023 at 2:00 pm in Highland Cemetery. Anyone who wishes to follow in the funeral procession is asked to meet at Christian-Sells at 1:30 pm Thursday.

Elaine, Tim, and Family. It is with deepest sorrow that I learn of Sonny's passing. He was a good man and I'm sure Roy was there to welcome him home.
