Hello my name is Steven Reese. I was Ethan's and Bryceon's middle school teacher at Gray School. I know it's been a while but I often find that these two boys run through my mind at various times since I left Gray School. Like most teachers, after students progress on their academic journeys, I lost track of their lives. Over the years, I wondered what they were doing, what they looked like and if they would remember me - good or bad. Often times, I find myself doing Google searches for students I previously taught. Maybe an event would lead to a picture or an article about their lives. Ethan's face ran through my mind today and in doing an internet search, I came across his obituary. My heart sank. I thought about the many laughs we had together and the rare, special bond I had with my students. I also had a similar bond with Bryceon. Your boys were always polite and willing to lend a helping hand when I needed it in the classroom. And for that, I'm grateful. It's always a difficult time when my students pass away but Ethan's passing hit a little harder. I don't know the pain you and your family have felt but all I can say is I'm terribly sorry for your loss. Thank you for letting me be their teacher and getting to be a small part of their lives.
Mr. Reese
