Farah Sharron Williams

GATE CITY, VA - Farah Sharron Williams, 76 was born to the late Dwight Howard Grimm and Edith Eloise Pendleton. She was preceded in death by her parents, brother Byron Gilmore 'B.G." Grimm, husband William "Bill" Wayne Williams and brother-in-law Tommy Williams. She is survived by her brothers-in-law, Fred (Phyllis), Blake and Mike and three nieces.

She started her career at Eastman in 1967 and, after retiring as a Vice President at Eastman Credit Union (ECU), she returned a short four years later to open the ECU branch in Gate City before retiring for a second time in 2015. She enjoyed her work and made many lasting friendships during this time.

She was a member of Rivermont Baptist Church where she served as Treasurer for many years. She enjoyed the fellowship, visiting with her dear friend Anna Hilton and listening to Janice Gillenwater's angelic singing every Sunday.

Traveling was one of her passions. She traveled across the country for Eastman and for pleasure. If the car was leaving, she was in it! She also enjoyed cooking, spending time with her many dear friends and loved her dogs, Mutt, Jake, Jack and Maya, like children.

A special thanks to her closest friends and family who were faithful to support and spend time with her until the end – Linda Smith, Jackie Smith, Darren Fugate, Gretchen Bentley, Charlotte Ireson, Margie Smith, Raymond and Sandra Pendleton, Ronnie Pendleton, Jan Dingus, Dee Dee Hill, Julie Wilson, Jordan Price and Dillon Grizzle.

The family also extends sincere and grateful thanks to the care team at Baysmont House for their exceptional and loving care.

A graveside service will be conducted by Rev. Darrell Fletcher at the Ervin Cemetery in the Manville Community, on Thursday, April 17th at 4pm. Family and friends may meet at Gate City Funeral Home at 3pm or at the cemetery for the service.
