KINGSPORT - Frank "Judson" Brownell, IV, 42 of Kingsport departed this life on Wednesday, May 8, 2024.
Judson was a lifelong resident of Kingsport. He was a graduate of Dobyns-Bennett High School and attended the University of Tennessee on a baseball scholarship. He graduated from Tennessee Wesleyan College with a Bachelor of Science degree in business finance.
He was the owner and appraiser of F.J. Brownell & Sons Appraisals.
Judson was an avid sports fan, particularly of the Boston Red Sox and Dobyns-Bennett athletics. He was known for his many baseball accomplishments, and he enjoyed coaching.
He enjoyed spending time with his family at their home on the lake and Hilton Head, and he enjoyed cooking and grilling.
Judson loved spending time with his daughter, Mattie.
He was preceded in death by his father, Frank "Jud" Brownell, III; and his maternal and paternal grandparents.
Those left to cherish Judson's memory are his precious daughter, Mattie Maelen Brownell; mother, Catherine Schlitt Brownell; mother of his daughter, Rachel Rogers; two aunts, two uncles and many cousins; and a host of special friends who were more like family.
A gathering of immediate family and friends in Judson's honor will be held at 6:00 pm on Wednesday, May 22, 2024, in the chapel of Oak Hill Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Judson's memory may be made to a charity of choice.
