KINGSPORT - On Sept 21, 2023 Franklin Delano "Bird Dog" Robinson of Kingsport, TN moved to his heavenly home. Franklin was born Dec 12, 1932 in Castlewood, VA, the son of Sam and Margaret Robinson.
In 2012 Franklin wrote this summary of his life, "I consider myself one of the most blessed individuals ever to have lived. I am of sound mind (I think), healthy in body, happy in spirit, able to pay the bills at the present time, and have a clear conscience with regard to every aspect of life. I have no adverse relationships of which I am aware and no ill feeling of any kind toward anyone. ... Thanks be to God for all the blessings on my life!"
He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Vickie Robinson; children Hank Robinson (Susie), Buck Robinson (Kirsten), Rebecca Sanor (Kevin), De Emigh (Jay), Rachel Roark (Robbie), Matthew Robinson (Tabitha); grandchildren Jacob Robinson (Kayla); Spencer Robinson (Kylie); Lucy Robinson; Jackson Sanor (Madison); Cooper Sanor (Fiancé Rachel Scheel); Effie and Landry Emigh; Bethany Beaty (Trey); Isaac, Naomi and Lydia Roark; Abigail, Jeremiah and Harmony Robinson; his great-grandson Stanley Robinson; sisters Nancy Fields-Burke and Janette Addington; several nieces and nephews.
A Fellowship to remember Franklin will be held Saturday Oct 14 from 12-3pm at Oak Drive Baptist Activity Center (1020 Oak Drive Cir, Kingsport, follow sign to Activity Center on hill behind the church).
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Franklin Robinson Scholarship Fund at Mountain Empire Community College.
