Freda Lane Obituary

Freda (Woods) Lane

May 8, 2025

KINGSPORT – Freda (Woods) Lane, 71, passed away on Thursday, May 8, 2025.

Freda was a lifelong resident of Hawkins County and retired from Eastman Chemical Company. She was a very loving and devoted wife, mother, and "Momo" to her grandkids, and a wonderful friend to so many. She had a servant's heart and devoted her entire life to God, her family, and her many friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, James B. and Joyce (Cradic) Woods and her brother, James F. Woods.

Freda is survived by her loving husband, Phil Lane; daughters, Kristen Lane and Holly Luther (Billy); grandchildren, Braden, Henley, and Beau; nieces, Kayla and Deanna; as well as many extended family members and dear friends.

The family would like to say a special thank you to all of her friends and family who all meant so much to her throughout her life.

Freda's legacy is one of unconditional love and devotion.

Freda's wishes were to have private funeral and graveside services for her family with Freda's uncle, Dr. Benny Woods officiating. Serving as pallbearers will be Phil Lane, Braden Slagle, Billy Luther, William Christian, Jackie Woods and Bryan Woods. Bobby Lane will serve as an honorary pallbearer.
