I had the pleasure of being a peer tutor for 7th graders my senior year. They placed me with Mr. Addington for P.E/Health. He was always so generous and kind. My mother knew him when she was in school and he was still teaching by the time I got to high school. I’m thankful for the short time I had the privilege to get to know him a little before graduating. My deepest condolences to his loved ones he left behind to carry on his legacy.

Todd and family just heard of Gary’s passing. Please accept my most sincere condolences. Graduated with Gary in this class of 1969, went one quarter with him at ETSU in the fall of 1969, and worked with him at Twin Springs until I left in the spring 1990. Saw him at the various class reunions. The last being our 50th. Due to prior commitments I can’t be there for the service.

My thoughts and prayers are with the family and friends during this difficult time
I’ve known Gary for several years meeting him through my late husband Daniel O’Leary
He & Daniel became Real Estate partners and we became very close friends with him! He was more like family! Gary was the most selfless and kindest person I’d ever met! He had the biggest heart and I was very thankful for everything he done for (us) me during Daniel’s last months here on earth! (He even took time from his busy schedule to let Daniel come over and deer hunt because we knew Daniel wouldn’t be with us much longer) That was the kind of person Gary was! Always putting everyone first!
Gary was loved by many and will be greatly missed!
Rest in Peace my friend
I’m sure you and Daniel will be trying to sell Real Estate in Heaven

I only knew him as a friend and neighbor and he was good at both of them. No more sitting on the porch just watching and talking or working together on the farm, Gary's presence will be felt for years to come. John 11:22-24 this is the day we all need to look forward to.

To Todd and all,
I am so sorry for your loss. Todd, you made your Dad so proud and rightly so! You are an amazing person and was a great student at Twin Springs High. Gary and I had some interesting conversations in the teacher's lounge while we taught together at Twin Springs. Besides you, I often enjoyed getting fishing tips from him and of course we loved talking basketball. He was a great coach. He has gone way to soon and I know he will be missed by not just you but his many friends. Due to prior plans, I will not be able to attend the service on Sat. I wanted you and your entire family to know that you are loved, that my thoughts will be with you, and that I am so very sorry for your loss. Always remember just how very proud he was to be your Dad!
