MT. CARMEL - Gary R. Slogar, 72, passed away on February 6, 2024, at Holston Valley Medical Center.
Gary was born in St. Louis Missouri and raised in Bernadette, Missouri. After graduating high school Gary enlisted in the United States Army where he would serve until his retirement. Gary enjoyed riding motorcycles with fellow veterans, along with boating and fishing.
Gary is preceded in death by his parents Joe and Inez Slogar and his wife Faye Slogar.
Gary is survived by his daughter Summer Slogar and brother Bobby Slogar.
A visitation will be held from 5:00-7:00 PM on Wednesday, February 14, 2024, at Johnson-Arrowood Funeral Home. The funeral service will follow in the funeral home chapel with Pastor James Adams officiating. A graveside service will be held at 2:00 PM at Mountain Home National Cemetery with Pastor Truman Ferguson officiating. Those wishing to attend the graveside service are asked to meet at the cemetery by 1:45 PM.
