May 2, 2025

Gene Wallace Lady Jr. born March 26, 1963 in Kingsport Tennessee to the late Gene Wallace Lady Sr. and Linda Lady passed away peacefully with his family by his side on May 2nd, 2025 at Mission Hospital in Asheville, NC. Gene was proceeded in death by both of his parents, and his late wife Connie Lady who he had longed to be with again. Gene worked most of his life in the restaurant industry as a General Manger to many Shoney's and other restaurant franchises along the east coast. He was of the Baptist faith and had longed for the day he would get to meet his savior. He was an avid Rusty Wallace and huge Tennessee Volunteer fan. Those left to cherish his memory are his son Gene Wallace Lady III, sister Teresa Green and husband Jimmy, brother Wayne Lady, grandson Crew Lady, nephew Stephen Smith, several nieces and nephews, and special friend Emma Renee. A celebration of life gathering will be held on Saturday June 14, 2025 at Eastman Cabins Shelter 18 at 12pm. All are welcome to come by and tell stories of Gene.

Condolences to Gene´s family. I met Gene and Connie years ago. We lived in the same neighborhood. Lost contact with them and often wondering how they were doing along with his sister Bobbie. Rest in peace buddy. We will meet again some day.

Connie was a good friend of mine. We were working at Wal-Mart together when she started dating Gene so I got to know him pretty good. They were both wonderful people, it's a shame they both left us too early but at least they are together again.

So sorry to hear of Gene's passing. It has been a year or so since we last spoke and I am shocked at the news.
