WISE, VA - Geraldine Collier, 92, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, April 24, 2024.
She was the daughter of Thomas Oney and Virgie Ray Wells.
She lived in Norton for 53 years and worked in dietary department at St. Mary's Hospital.
She was preceded in death by husband, Bascom Collier; a son-in-law, Roger McConnell; her mother and father; two sisters, Nannie Barnett and Frances Yancey and a brother, Richard Oney.
Surviving are her daughter, Leisha McConnell; her grandson, Zachary Collier; sister, Norma Jean Redman; several nieces and nephews; and several special friends.
Funeral services for Geraldine Collier will be conducted at 3:00 P.M. Saturday, April 27, 2024 at the Sturgill Funeral Home Chapel in Wise, VA with Pastor Robert Fultz, Jr officiating. Family will receive friends from 1:00 P.M. till time of services at 3:00 P.M. Saturday, April 27, 2024 at the Sturgill Funeral Home in Wise, VA. Graveside committal services and burial will be held at 2:00 P.M. Sunday, April 28, 2024 in the Laurel Grove Cemetery in Norton, VA. Family and friends will meet at 1:30 P.M.
