JONESBOROUGH - Grayling Lynn Bishop, 68, Jonesborough, passed away on Saturday, January 31, 2026, at his residence.

He was born in Scott County and was a son of the late Billy and Ethel Arnold Bishop.

Grayling was a devoted member of Westside Christian Church and spent many years working as a truck driver. He enjoyed camping, driving a tour bus, and volunteering with the Sulphur Springs Fire Department. Grayling never met a stranger, and if he was talking to you, he always had a smile on his face. He especially cherished spending time with his grandchildren, most often cheering them on at the ball fields.

In addition to his parents, Grayling was preceded in death by his brother, Danny Bishop.

Survivors include his wife of 27 years, Beth Milhorn Bishop; daughter, Heather Calton (Trevor); grandchildren, Olivia and Landon Calton; stepdaughter, Emily Riggleman (Shannon); step granddaughter, Jimma Riggleman; brother, David Bishop (Lisa); sister, Donna Sanders (Robert); several nieces and nephews.

The funeral service will be conducted 7:00 pm Wednesday, February 4, 2026, at Westside Christian Church, 1405 Persimmon Ridge Rd. Jonesborough, TN 37659 with Minister Blake Shropshire, officiating. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 5:00-7:00 pm at the church.

The graveside committal service will be held at 12:00 pm Thursday, February 5, 2026, in Washington County Memory Gardens. Pallbearers will be chosen from friends and family. Those who wish to attend are asked to meet at the cemetery by 11:50 am.
