KINGSPORT - Harold Wayne "Smiley" Hudson, 88, of Kingsport, passed away peacefully on Monday, December 25, 2023.
Smiley was born on July 9, 1935, in Kingsport to the late Kelly and Elsie Carter Hudson. He was a member of the Eagles and American Legion and retired from AFG Glass Plant.
Smiley enjoyed reading, puzzles, Civil War history and visiting battlefields. He was an Army veteran serving during the Korean War.
In addition to his parents, Smiley was preceded in death by his wife, Evelyn Jo Hudson; his brothers; Allen and Larry Hudson; and sister, Linda Blevins.
Left to cherish Smiley's memory are his sisters; Doris LaForce and husband, Pete and Ann Ellis; children, David Hammonds, Debbie Kennedy and husband, Herbert, Carlos Hammonds; and several grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
The family will receive friends Friday, December 29, 2023, from 10:00 until 11:00 am in the chapel of Oak Hill Funeral and Cremation Services.
A Celebration of Life will follow at 11:00 am with Dr. Phil Hoskins officiating.
A Graveside Service will be held at 12:00 pm at Oak Hill Memorial Park in the Garden of Gethsemane.
Memorial contributions may be made to American Legion Hammond Post #3, VFW or the Jericho Shriners Temple, 1100 Jericho Dr, Blountville, TN 37663.
