Harry Melvin "Pete" Moore

March 21, 2026

Harry Melvin "Pete" Moore was born on December 12, 1940, and departed this earth on March 21, 2026, at 85 years old. His parents were Harry C. and Minnie Pearl Moore who preceded him in death.

Pete was a United States Army Veteran where he was a proud American that served his country well. He made a career at Eastman Chemical Company where he retired after many years.

Pete was a loyal, kind, funny man who lit up a room with his smile and charm. He never met a stranger.

Pete enjoyed Nascar racing, listening to Willie Nelson, camping and talking with family, friends and neighbors.

Pete united in marriage to Patsy Fugate Moore on December 22, 1995. They enjoyed traveling, camping and playing cards with friends until her death in February 2025.

Pete is survived by his family, who he took in as his own and loved well: One stepson, Travis Bare and spouse Robin of Mt. Juliet, TN; one stepdaughter, Crystal Bare of Kingsport, TN; two grandchildren, Mara Bare of Murfreesboro, TN, and Josh Bare with spouse Kaitlynn of Mt. Juliet, TN; four great-grandchildren, Coriander and Camden Colwell, Kingston and Iris Bare. He is also survived by his sister-in-law, Frances Harris, and a brother-in-law, LeRoy Laughlin. A host of nieces, nephews, cousins and special friends also survive.

The family would like to thank the caregivers at Kempton Assistive Living and Memory Care for their unwavering care and support for Pete and the family.

Pallbearers include Travis Bare, Josh Bare, Clint Harris, Tim Laughlin, David Moore, Jeremy Moore, Denver Thacker and Rusty Livesay.

Honorary pallbearers include LeRoy Laughlin, Jerry Foust, James Smith, James Thacker and Jerry Moore.

The family will receive friends from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm Friday, March 27, 2026, at Oak Hill Funeral Home.

A Celebration of Life Service will begin at 1:00 pm in the funeral home chapel with Pastor Brian Moore officiating.

A Graveside Service will follow at 2:00 pm at Oak Hill Memorial Park.
