Harry Whiston Obituary

CHURCH HILL - Harry Edgar Whiston, age 65, passed away Wednesday, March 8, 2023 at his home in Church Hill. He was born on May 7, 1957 and was of the Baptist Faith. Harry was an avid fisherman and loved spending time at his camper and on the lake in his bass boat. He was a jack of all trades and a master carpenter and helped his neighbor with many projects. He had a green thumb, loved to garden and cooked for anyone who visited him, especially cooking ribs on his smoker.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 28 years, Carolyn Cody and his father Robert M. Whiston.

Harry is survived by sons, Jeffery Hicks of Florida and Jeremy Whiston of Church Hill; sisters, Vada Katherne Johnson of Jefferson City, Louise Murr (Johnny) of Knoxville and Melinda Collins (Joe) of North Carolina; brothers, Robert Whiston, Jr of Jefferson City, and Roger Whiston of North Carolina.

The family will receive friends from 5-7 pm Friday, March 10, 2023 at Carter-Trent Funeral Home in Church Hill.

A funeral service will follow at 7 pm in the funeral home chapel.

A graveside service will be conducted at 11 am on Saturday at East Lawn Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be family and friends. Those wishing to attend are asked to meet at the cemetery at 10:45 am.
