J. Fugate Obituary
J. C. Fugate July 13, 2024
KINGSPORT - J.C. Fugate, age 94, of Kingsport, Tennessee passed away on Saturday, July 13, 2024 at his home, surrounded by his loved ones.
J.C. served in the United States Army in the Korean War. He retired as a local driver for Mason Dixon Truck lines.
He was preceded in death by his parents, R. Emory and Gladys Roller Fugate; his loving wife of 39 years, Doris Stapleton Fugate; son, Timothy; brothers, William "Bill" and Roy Fugate; sister, Mildred Larkins; granddaughter, Lindsay Fugate Trent; and grandson, Kadan Jace Carter Fugate.
JC is survived by his children, Sherry Fugate Meade (Gary), Danny Fugate (Kathy), Teresa Steffey and Chris Fugate (Angie); grandchildren, Justin Meade, TJ Fugate, Kimberly Richardson, Stephen and Josh Steffey, Victoria Weatherly, Seth and Haley Fugate; twenty great-grandchildren; and brother, Jim "Chico" Fugate.
The family will receive friends from 5-7pm on Wednesday, July 17, 2024 at Hamlett Dobson Funeral Home, Kingsport. Funeral service will take place at 7pm with Pastor Gary Calhoun officiating. Graveside service will be conducted at 11am on Thursday, July 18, 2024 at Morrison Chapel United Methodist Church Cemetery.
