James Darrell (Jamie) Davis, 57, of Church Hill, TN passed away peacefully on January 28, 2025, following a brief but courageous battle with cancer. Jamie was born on January 8, 1968, in Kingsport, TN to Bill and Callie (Tady) Davis. He was a 1986 graduate of Dobyns-Bennett High School where he was a 3 year starter for the Indian basketball team and was nominated as a McDonalds All American. Jamie was a talented self-taught guitarist and an avid fan of both TV Westerns and the Tennessee Vols. He was a lifelong dog lover, particularly his beloved "Biscuit" and "Bucky". Jamie worked in the food service industry, and loved cooking for his family and friends. He worked many memorable years at the renowned Woodstone Deli in Kingsport.
Jamie is survived by the love of his life, Amy Line of Church Hill, his brother Timothy Davis of Kingsport, brother and sister-in-law Phil and Nikki Davis of Prattville, AL, nieces Haley Davis of Huntsville, AL, and Abby Davis of Columbia, TN, and nephews Ben Davis and Jack Davis of Auburn, AL. Jamie was loved by all who knew him and will be fondly remembered by numerous friends and family members, including his best friend of nearly 50 years, Ken Easterly of Bristol, TN.
The family is currently planning a celebration of life.

It seems I remember playing king of the hill while you all were building your house. I remember being at mamaw Davis´ house and playing for hours. I feel bad we grew up and grew away. Love you Jamie. Ps I won king of the hill... just so you know

I remember watching Jamie slam dunk baskets in Van Huss dome. He was 5' 9 " tall and could vertically leap up high enough to cuff the ball and slam it. His hands were too small to Palm the ball so he just simply cuffed it and jumped a foot taller than everybody else. It was something to watch .

Janie was the one if the funniest people on Earth. I could just look at Jamie and laugh. We had the exact sense of humor. He tried to show me how to play basketball and I would try to show him how to play guitar...lol. I'll see you in heaven Jamie!!!
