Janice Lane Jennings

JONESBOROUGH - Janice Lane Jennings, age 77, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, December 10, 2024, at her home in Jonesborough, TN. She was born on August 28, 1947, in Church Hill, TN, to the late Dewey Lane, Sr. and Mallie Hammonds Lane. Janice lived a life full of love and dedication.

Janice married Paul Jennings on March 5, 1966, and they shared a beautiful journey of 58 years together. Janice proudly retired from Holston Valley Medical Center after 25 years of devoted service in Environmental Services. A lifelong attendant of Lynn Garden Evangelical Methodist Church, Janice's faith was the cornerstone of her life.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her siblings, Shirley Lane Archer (survived by Ovalee Archer) and Donald Lane.

Janice is survived by her loving husband, Paul; her daughter, Paula Jennings Legg and husband Steve; her son, Mike Jennings and wife Christe; her granddaughter, Brooke Jennings and husband Marty; her grandsons, Luke Jennings, Matthew Williams and wife Tori, and Marcus Williams. Her legacy continues through her six great-grandchildren: Harper, Charlie, Aria, Hadrian, Willa and Jase. Janice is also survived by her siblings, Wilma Lane Tipton (John Tipton, deceased), Mildred Lane Clonce (Mark Clonce), Bill Lane (Barbara Lane) and Dewey Lane Junior. Additionally, she leaves behind numerous nieces and nephews who cherish her memory.

The family will receive friends Thursday, December 12, 2024, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Colonial Funeral Home, Weber City, VA. Funeral service will follow in the chapel at 7:00 PM with Pastor Aaron Edens officiating. Music will be provided by The Edens Trio.

Graveside service will be Friday, December 13, 2024, at 10:00 AM at Holston View Cemetery. Tim Archer, Mike Jennings, Luke Jennings, Matthew Williams, Marcus Williams and Marty Fowler will serve as pallbearers. Family and friends will meet at the funeral home at 9:00 AM to go in procession to the cemetery.
