KINGSPORT - Jeffrey Lynn Collingsworth, age 54, of Kingsport passed away on Saturday, September 28, 2024 at Johnson City Medical Center. He is the son of the late Jerry Collingsworth and Shirley McCray. Jeff was born in Fort Benning, GA and lived in Kingsport for most of his life.

Jeff has worked at American Mechanical since 1988. He lived life to the fullest, dedicated spending time with his family and friends. Jeff enjoyed being involved with his community, including work, school, sports and especially the kids. He has left a lasting impression with each and every one he has come in contact with and will be greatly missed by all. Jeff was always willing and able to help others. Never wanting recognition or expected anything in return. His last generous gesture was donating his organs to help others. He will live on helping others he never knew.

He is survived by his wife, Kate; five children, Josh, Javin, Alexis, Jaxson and Jayce; sister, Gail Collingsworth: son-in-law, Dustin Gordon; in-laws, Bre and Adam Calderoni; nieces, Luna and Lily; father-in-law, Clay Clement; several aunts and uncles and an excessive number of cousins.

The family will receive friends from 4:00 - 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, October 2, 2024 at Hamlet Dobson Funeral Home, Kingsport. A funeral service will follow at 7:00 p.m. in the funeral home chapel, with Pastor Chris Alford officiating.

Graveside services will be held at East Lawn Memorial Park on Thursday, October 3, 2024 at 1:00 p.m. Everyone is asked to assemble at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Home at 12:00 p.m. for a funeral procession to East Lawn.

After the graveside services, a Celebration of Life will be held at South View Community Center located at 401 Rocks Springs Road at 6:30 p.m.

Pallbearers will be Josh Gordon, Javin Collingsworth, Mark Kincheloe, Tyler Hill, Jeff Christian and Chuck Williams. Honorary pallbearers are Jaxson and Jayce Collingsworth, Dustin Gordon and Clay Clement.
