Jerry Anderson Obituary
"Big" Jerry Anderson, 79 of Niota, passed away Monday, April 21, 2025 at Parkwest Medical Center in Knoxville. A native and lifelong resident of Niota, he was the son of the late William and Johnnie Shoemaker Anderson.
He was known for his sense of humor, love for his family, church and for God. He was preceded in death by four brothers Kenneth Anderson, Houston Anderson, Roy Anderson and Olen Anderson.
Survivors; One son, William Jerry Anderson of Athens; one granddaughter, Bethany Anderson of Maryville; two sister, Billie Anne Knox of Niota, and Linda Monroe of Las Vegas, Nevada; and several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 5-7 pm Thursday, April 24, 2025 in the chapel of Laycock-Hobbs Funeral Home. The funeral service will follow at 7 pm with Jerry Anderson and Rev. Donnie Dalton officiating. The graveside service will be 1 pm Friday, April 25, 2025 at Niota Cemetery. Pallbearers Nick Anderson, David Walden, Allen Walden, Keith Walden, Bryan Walden and Greg Smith.
