Memorial Service Sat. Nov. 16, at 1:00 pm, St. John United Methodist Church, Maryville, TN.
Survived by children Jeffery (Sandy) Litton, Jennifer (Danny) Myers, Gretchen (Paul) Darling, and Rebekka (Paul) Longmire; Sisters Mary (Ed) Wirth and Kaye Welter; 12 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren and numerous beloved nieces and nephews.
Preceded in death by his wife of 44 years, Betty Barker Litton and grandson, Sam Darling.
Jerry was a perpetual optimist, blooming wherever he was planted, with a great sense of humor who never met a stranger. He was the inaugural coach of Farragut High School women's soccer and Maryville College's women's soccer program, a long-time member of Rotary International, and a life long Methodist. He was a graduate of East Tennessee State University. Jerry and the love of his life, Betty graduated from Dobyns-Bennett High School.

My name is Becky Bartak Wells and I went to school with Jerry all the years in Kingsport. I have always remembered him in our classes in elementary school first and then up through the years to Senior High. I am so happy to read about him and his accomplishments, and the life he led. Jerry was an exceptional person and went through his life very well and successfully. To read of his soccer coaching and all the things he did in life was wonderful. It is amazing that he did so very much for children, the community and for the things he did in and for his life, for others and for himself. I am sure his children and his late wife were very happy with him and their lives together. Jerry is definitely someone to admire. Becky Bartak Wells, classmate for years. I have lived in Northern Michigan for YEARS and the minute I saw Jerry Lee Litton, looked at his picture, I knew it was the Jerry I had known all my life at school in Kingsport.. His great smile definitely made me know it is Jerry. Prayers for his family.
