ROGERSVILLE - Jewell Howe Barker, age 91, of Rogersville died unexpectedly Sunday, May 7, 2023 at Ballad Health Johnson City Medical Center. She retired from IPC and Label Co. following 43 years of service. Jewell, appropriately named, was an active member of First Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, William "Bill" R. Barker, parents Ernest and Beuna Smith Howe, infant brother Douglas Lyons Howe, brother J. E. "Pee Wee" Howe Jr., niece Tammy Howe Hurd.
Survivors include sister-in-law Jo-Ann Howe, great-niece Jessica Davis and a host of neighbors and friends.
Visitation hours will be 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m., Thursday, May 11, 2023 at Broome Funeral Home Chapel.
Funeral service will be 2:00 p.m., Thursday, May 11, 2023 in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Trey Meek officiating.
Burial will follow in Highland Cemetery.
