Joe Sizemore Obituary
September 27, 2024
Joe Kyle Sizemore, age 87, went to be with the Lord on September 27th after an extended illness. Joe was saved when he was 10 years old at Riverside Primitive Baptist church and remained a member there until his death. Joe and his family traveled singing gospel music and they touched many lives along the way. Joe was preceded in death by his wife of 67 years, Joleen Sizemore; his parents, Orbin & Ethel Sizemore; brother, Bill (GeorgeAnn) Sizemore; sisters, Irene Sizemore & Laura Kinsler; mother-in-law & father-in-law, John & Thelma Richardson; nieces, Debra & Kelly and nephew, Louie Kinsler.
He is survived by;
Son; David (Rhonda) Sizemore.
Daughter; Anita (Elvis) Massengill.
Grandchildren; Chelsea (Matthew) Barrett and Nathan (Becky) Massengill.
Great-Granddaughter; Chloe Barrett.
Brother; Donnie (Wilma) Sizemore.
Several other family members and friends.
The family would like to extend special thanks to all of Joe's caregivers, including family, son-in-law Elvis Massengill and Elvis' nephew, Junior Presley, Dr. Mark Doman, Amedisys, Hancock Manor & Suncrest Hospice Care.
The family will receive friends from 5 P.M. to 7 P.M. on Wednesday, October 2, 2024 at the McNeil Funeral Home Chapel in Sneedville, with funeral services to follow at 7 P.M.
Elder Roger Trent officiating.
Special music will be provided by Elder Travis Lipe and choir from Riverside Baptist Church.
Interment will be held at 11 A.M. on Thursday, October 3, 2024 at the Richardson
Cemetery on Chestnut Ridge Road
Serving as pallbearers will be members of Riverside Baptist Church. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Junior Presley & Wiley Joe Sizemore.
