DANDRIDGE - John R. Gustke, 84, of Dandridge, was welcomed into the presence of his Savior, Jesus Christ, on February 21, 2024. He was born March 30, 1939 in Port Huron, MI. He served in the US Navy for 4 years on the USS Wasp and USS Randolph. John worked for Eastman Chemical for 30+ years as a maintenance mechanic and retired in 1997. He was a faithful member and deacon of First Baptist Church of Dandridge and enjoyed spending time with family, gardening, woodworking, camping and traveling.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his sister (Judy) and his 1st wife, Jo Carol of 34 years. He is survived by his wife, Peggy, of 25 years, his son, John Darrel of Telford, his sister, Donnalee Steadman of Silverwood, MI, 2 stepsons, Wade Klingler (Rasika), Jarrett Klingler and 4 grandchildren.
The Family will receive friends at 10am on Thursday February 29th at First Baptist Church Dandridge with the service to follow. Graveside service will be held at 3pm at East Lawn Memorial Gardens at 4997 Memorial Blvd, Kingsport TN.
Memorial donations, in lieu of flowers, can be made to St. Jude Hospital in Memphis TN.

John was a wonderful christian. He and I visited members and prospects together when he was at Lynn Garden Baptist. John was quite by nature and soft spoken. He was a great friend and he most certainly is heaven's gain. May God bless the entire family during this time.
