April 18, 2026
John P. Mykytka, age 79, passed away peacefully on April 18, 2026. A memorial service will be held on April 25, 2026, at 4:00 p.m. at First Broad Street United Methodist Church, with a time of receiving friends to follow the service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the First Broad Street United Methodist Church Bays Mountain Scholarship Fund. Carter-Trent Funeral Home in Kingsport is serving the Mykytka family.

John was my friend during our High School Days at Columbus. We rode together to school in our mom's cars, during our freshmen and sophomore years. RIP Old Friend! Ave Maria and Adelante.
