KINGSPORT - Joshua Blake Collier, 37, of Kingsport, TN, passed away on Saturday, February 24, 2024.
Josh grew up in Kingsport, Tennessee, where he graduated from Sullivan North High School in 2004. He attained Eagle Scout status with Troop 253. Josh bravely served his country, completing two tours of duty in Iraq and another tour in Afghanistan, where he was a parachute rigger. He was an adventure seeker by nature, pursuing many pastimes. Josh was a motorcycle and snowboard enthusiast. He worked in construction and was a father to five wonderful children. Josh was always smiling, kind, and making friends everywhere. He especially loved the Pittsburgh Steelers. Josh attended church as a member of Way of Life Baptist Church.
Josh is preceded by his grandparents on his father's side, Francis and Faye Collier; his great-grandparents on his mother's side, Sam and Edith Moore, and Milburn and Helen Gilliam; his great-grandmother, Eve Helton; his uncles, Mark Gilliam and Steve Cross; and several great-aunts and great-uncles.
He is survived by his parents, Mike and Joanna Collier; his sister, Olivia (Anthony) Browder; his nephew, Bennett Browder; his children, Denver, Tayden, Joshua, Tristin, and Harlei; his grandparents, Sam and Brenda Gilliam; his aunt and uncle, Robin (Terry) Doron and Richard (Vicki) Gilliam; several cousins, extended family members, and countless friends.
The family will receive friends and family on Wednesday, March 6th, 2024 from 6 pm until 8 pm at Trinity Memorial Centers, with a service to follow from 8 pm until 9 pm. Services will be officiated by Pastor Johnny Gibson of Way of Life Baptist Church. Interment at the VA Mountain Home National Cemetery will take place on Thursday, March 7th at 11am where Military Honors and the American flag will be presented to the family. Those wishing to follow in precession to the cemetery are asked to meet at Trinity Memorial Centers at 10 am.
