Joyce Church Obituary
SURGOINSVILLE - Joyce Frost Church, age 73, of Surgoinsville, TN, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, September 15, 2023.
Joyce was born to John Frost and Kate Price Frost on May 12, 1950. She went to school in Hawkins County. She was married to David "D.C." Church for 38 years. She graduated from East Tennessee State University, attaining a bachelors and two masters degrees. She worked as a teacher at Mooresburg Elementary School for 35 years.
She was preceded in death by her parents John Frost and Kate Price; husband David "D.C." Church; brother Bill Frost; sisters-in-law Dana Pearson and Loretta Wolfe; brother-in-law John W. Wolfe.
She is survived by son, David J. Church; granddaughter, Amehlia Rose Church-Ortiz; sister-in-law, Debbie Hale; brothers-in-law, Harold W. Wolfe and Glenn Wolfe; and several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday, September 18, 2023 at Christian-Sells Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 7:00 pm with Pastor Tecky Hicks officiating. Graveside service will be held at 10:00 am September 19, 2023 in Highland Cemetery.
