Joyce Louise Hooper, neè Roberts, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully on Friday, July 11th at Holston Valley Medical Center. She was 85 years old. She was born in Key West, Florida, and spent the last 20 years of her life in Kingsport with her husband. They had recently celebrated their 66th wedding anniversary. In her retirement years, Joyce frequently donated her time to others. She served in multiple officer roles with the Philanthropic Educational Organization (P.E.O. Sisterhood), volunteered regularly with St. Paul's Episcopal Church Food Pantry, and was a Guest Services volunteer at Holston Valley Medical Center.

She is survived by her husband, Larrie Hooper; daughter Shelley Allen; son-in-law, Mark Allen; and grandson Zachary Allen.

A funeral service will be held at 12 p.m. on Thursday, July 17, 2025, at St. Paul's Episcopal Church with The Rev. Jonathan Tuttle officiating.

Interment will follow at 2 p.m. at Mountain Home National Cemetery in Johnson City.
