GATE CITY, VA - Karen Jane Christian, 64, went to be with her Heavenly Father, Tuesday, March 4, 2025, peacefully at her home.
Karen was born in Kingsport, TN on April 16, 1960, and was the daughter of Virginia Ruth Stewart and the late Jerry Gillenwater.
Karen resided in Scott County, VA all her life. She was of the Baptist Faith. She was a devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother, and sister; her life revolved around her grandchildren.
In addition to her father, Jerry Gillenwater, her brother, Michael Gillenwater, paternal grandparents Henry and Janie Stewart, and mother-in-law, Mary Christian preceded her in death.
She is survived by her loving husband of 50 years, Ronnie Christian, children, Ericka Wells (Stuart), Kingsport, TN, Keith Christian (Melisha), Yuma, VA and Santana Page (Jason), Gate City, VA; her mother, Virginia Stewart, a special sister and best friend, Janet Gillenwater; stepmother, Bess Gillenwater; sister, Jeri Anna Musick; brother, Shannon Gillenwater; grandchildren, Ethan Wells, Maycee and Addison Christian, Lauren, Braley, and Parker Page, and Edmond Lawson; great grandson, Eustace Lawson and a special nephew, Jamey Mathes (Tara).
The family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m., Monday, March 10, 2025, at the Gate City Funeral Home. A Celebration of Life Service will be conducted at 7:00 p.m. in the Gene Falin Memorial Chapel of the funeral home with Pastor Scott Fields and Pastor Jerry Hensley officiating. Toke Hensley and the Clinch Mountain Boys will provide the music.
Graveside services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, March 11, 2025, at the Christian Page Cemetery, Gate City, VA.
Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
Family and friends are asked to meet at 1:15p.m. at the funeral home to go in procession to the graveside service
