Keith Elton Obituary

KINGSPORT - Keith Elton, age 73, of Kingsport, Tennessee, went home to be with the Lord on Friday morning, December 20, 2024, unexpectedly. Keith grew up in Alaska and resided in Tennessee for more than 50 years. Keith was a deputy for the Sullivan County Sheriff's Department retiring as a Major after 45 years of service.
Keith was preceded in death by his parents, Claude and Shirley Hammer Elton.
He is survived by his loving wife of 23 years, Valorie Jonas Elton; children, Casondra Clark (Patrick), Taylor Franklin (Matthew), Kevin Elton (Whitney), and Richard Byrd; grandchildren, Ashleigh, Maison, Parker, Jolan, Zeke and one on the way; sister, Elisa; brothers, Kim, Bruce and Brad; and several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 5pm – 7pm on Thursday, December 26, 2024 at Hamlett Dobson Funeral Home, Kingsport. A service will follow with Pastor Mike Robinson officiating. Graveside service will take place at 2pm on Friday, December 27, 2024 at East Lawn Memorial Park.
